The application of comprehensive process management in the prevention and control of incontinence associated dermatitis

Abstract: Objective: To explore the application and clinical effects of comprehensive process management in the prevention and control of Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD). Methods: A process management team was established to improve the current prevention and nursing of clinical IAD through normal, optimized and reengineered procejures so as to implement comprehensive process management. Results: Significant differences were observed in comparison of IAD incidence, severity of IAD, time needed to recover and patients' family satisfaction before and after the intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion: The nursing of incontinence-associated dermatitis in elderly patients has been normalized, scientific and processed using comprehensive process management, which can effectively prevent incontinence-associated dermatitis and improve the nursing process.
