Abstract: This article analyzed and compared of the assessment tools under the current long-term care insurance system at home and abroad from the background, content and application. There are three weak points: firstly, the existing tools do not conform to the definition of disability; secondly, the form of the existing tool is likely to cause cross-over and overlap between items; thirdly, the existing tools do not match the current long-term care and insurance payment standards in China. Due to the above reasons, it is essential to build a disability assessment tool based on Chinese long-term care insurance system.
