Abstract: Skin tears is an important topic in wound care and with more attention with the publication of 2018 "Best Practice Recommendations for the Prevention and Management of Skin Tears in Aged Skin". There were few researches on skin tears in China. The latest definition and classification of skin tears, the occurrence and the progress in prevention and management of skin tears at home and abroad were reviewed in this paper to introduce the concept of skin tearing, and to provide theoretical basis for the future research.
