Abstract: This paper conducts a comprehensive and systematic review of the current situation and assessment instruments for the informal care costs for elderly people with dementia, both domestically and internationally. It analyzes the challenges faced by informal care cost assessment of elderly people with dementia in China and puts forward scientific and reasonable suggestions. This paper can provide a reference for the establishment of a cost assessment tool for informal care of dementia elderly, and the development of an informal care cost management model, so as to promote sustainable development of informal care for elderly people with dementia in China.
