Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effects of 8S management mode in the whole flow management of ventilator pipeline in Central Sterile Supply Department. Methods: Totally 36,894 sets of ventilator pipes and fittings used from January 2019 to June 2020 were set as the 8S management experimental group. A total of 21,672 sets of ventilator pipes that were routinely managed from January 2018 to December 2018 were set as the control group. The breakage rate, error rate, qualified rate of cleaning quality and clinical satisfaction rate were compared between the experimental group and the control group. Results: The breakage rates of the experimental group and the control group were 1.90% and 5.40%, respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The error rates of the experimental group and the control group were 0.80% and 4.00%, respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The quality qualified rates of cleaning of experimental group and control group were 99.82% and 94.59%, respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). The clinical satisfaction of experimental group and control group was 99.17% and 97.20%, respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: In the whole process of the ventilator pipeline treatment, the 8S management mode can significantly improve the cleaning quality, reduce the error and damage rates of items, improve the clinical satisfaction.
