Abstract: Home-based assisted Peritoneal Dialysis is defined as peritoneal dialysis performed at home with the assistance of a family member, a community-based nurse or others for patients with self-care difficulties. At present, considerable attention has been attached to home-based peritoneal dialysis as a dialysis modality to cope with the needs of elderly patients with End-Stage Renal Diseases. This paper reviews and analyzes the modality and clinical effectiveness of assisted Peritoneal Dialysis. Some suggestions are provided for future studies.
