Abstract: Objective: To reveal the experience of colorectal cancer enterostomy patients disclosing enterostomy information to their minor children, and to provide a basis for constructing scientific disease communication plans. Methods: From November 2024 to April 2025, purposive sampling was used to select nine colorectal cancer enterostomy patients who needed to raise minor children in the Gastrointestinal Oncology Center of a tertiary grade A cancer hospital in Beijing for semi-structured interview. Interview data were sorted and analyzed by using the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method. Results: A total of four themes were extracted: the dilemma of protective silence; the positive effect of restrictive information disclosure; the stress response of minor children to sudden information disclosure; the effect of protective strategies on minor children after information disclosure. Conclusion: The strategies for disclosing enterostomy information to minor children in colorectal cancer patients are different, and their effects on minor children are also different. Medical staff should pay attention to such patients and assist them in developing appropriate strategies for disclosing information about enterostomy.
