Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effect of resourcefulness training on resourcefulness level and depressive symptoms in depressed patients after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Methods: According to the time order of PCI, 73 patients with depression were divided into control group (n=37) and intervention group (n=36), and the intervention time was 3 months. The control group was given routine nursing care, and the intervention group was given routine nursing care combined with resourcefulness training. Resourcefulness Scale (RS), Chinese version of Cardiac Depression Scale (C-CDS) were assessed before intervention (T1), 3 months after the intervention (T2), and 6 months after the intervention (T3); the frequency of angina attacks, cardiogenic outpatient visits were counted at T2 and T3 to evaluate the efficacy of the intervention. Results: Before intervention, there was no statistical significance in the level of resourcefulness and depression symptoms (P>0.05). At T2, the RS score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, the C-CDS score, the frequency of angina attacks and cardiogenic outpatient visits were lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). At T3, the C-CDS score and angina attack frequency in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The repeated analysis of variance found that the differences of C-CDS and RS scores between the two groups at different time points were statistically significant (P<0.05). Covariance analysis found that after excluding the time effect, patient's C-CDS scores and RS scores were statistically different between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: Resourcefulness training can improve the resourcefulness level and relieve their depressive symptoms of depressed patients after PCI.
