Abstract: Objective: To establish the regional medical information platform and explore its application in the follow-up of patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Methods: A total of 120 patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease admitted to one hospital from April 2020 to February 2022 were divided into the control group (from April 2020 to March 2021, n=60) and the observation group (from April 2021 to February 2022, n=60). The control group received routine follow-up, while the observation group was followed up using the regional medical information platform. Both groups were followed up for 3 months. The results of coronary self-management scale (CSMS) and the Quality of Life scale of the two groups were compared before discharge and after follow-up. Meanwhile, the incidence of adverse drug events and adverse cardiovascular diseases, the number of doctors' consultations, the number of nurses' visits and the number of patients' consultations within 3 months of follow-up were observed as well as patients' satisfaction. Results: After 3 months of follow-up, the self-management ability and quality of life of the observation group were improved compared with the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the incidence of adverse drug events and adverse cardiovascular diseases in the observation group during follow-up was lower, the number of doctor consultations, nurse visits and patients' disease consultations was higher, and patients' satisfaction with follow-up work was higher, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion: The establishment of regional medical information platform and its application in the follow-up of patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease can improve patients' self-management ability and their quality of life, and reduce the incidence of adverse events and adverse cardiovascular disease during the follow-up period. Patients also show high satisfaction towards the follow-up work.
