Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current situation of social support and quality of life among nurses in Guangdong Third-grade Class-A Hospitals, and explore the relationship between social support and quality of life. Methods: Social support rating scale and WHO quality of life summary questionnaire were used to measure the level of social support and quality of life of nurses and 1851 nurses in five hospitals of Guangdong Province were investigated. Results: The average score of social support was 38.37±7.91, which was significantly higher than the score of the norm (P<0.05). Among the three dimensions of social support, subjective support score is the highest one in clinical nurse, followed by the objective support, the utilization of support.The average score of quality of life was 76.96±11.96, which was significantly higher than the score of the norm (P<0.05). The highest score of four dimensions was physiological dimension, followed by environmental dimension, psychological dimension,and social relationship. Nurses' social support was positively correlated with their quality of life (P<0.05). Conclusion: The levels of social support and quality of life of nurses in Guangdong Province were moderate. By strengthening the nurse's social support system, creating a good working environment, it will help to improve the overall quality of life of nurses.
