Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effect of a fully automated digital specimen transfer system led by operating room nurses in the pre-processing process of surgical pathological specimens under the background of digital management, and to provide reference for improving the quality of surgical pathological specimens. Methods: A fully automated digital specimen transfer system was constructed and applied to the pre-treatment process of surgical pathological specimens. The efficiency, quality, psychological pressure of operating room nurses, and satisfaction of medical staff were compared before the system application (from April to July 2023) and after (from August to November 2023). Results: After the application of the fully automated digital specimen transfer system, the pre-treatment process for pathological specimens decreased by an average of 3.66 minutes compared to before application, and the one-time acceptance rate increased from 87.07% to 96.42%. The satisfaction rate of pathological examination quality was high, and the work pressure of nurses was significantly relieved. The satisfaction of medical staff was significantly improved, and the above differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of a fully automated digital specimen transfer system in the surgical specimen pre-treatment process can effectively improve the efficiency of surgical specimen pre-treatment and alleviate the work pressure of nurses, achieve satisfactory quality of pathological specimen submission, provide reliable basis for medical diagnosis, effectively reduce occupational exposure of medical staff, and improve their satisfaction.
