Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current status of magnetic level in tertiary general hospitals and analyze the influence of nurses' general characteristics on it, and to provide reference for improving the magnetic level of hospitals. Methods: Totally 1 830 clinical nurses from five tertiary general hospitals were enrolled to complete general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of the Essentials of Magnetism Scale (C-EOM). Results: The total average score of C-EOM was (1.88±0.69); the highest score was "control over nursing practice", the lowest score was "cultural values"; multiple regression analysis showed that academic qualifications, employment status, working experience and marital status were the influencing factors of different dimensions of the C-EOM, respectively (P<0.05). Conclusion: The magnetic level of hospitals was generally lower and the general characteristics of nurses had little influence on it.
