Abstract: Objective: To understand the current status of cancer-related breakthrough pain management (BTP) among medical staff and to provide references for establishing countermeasures and training for medical staff. Methods: Totally 213 oncology doctors and nurses in oncology department were recruited and investigated by a self-designed BTP questionnaire.Result: Most of the doctors and nurses knew well about cancer-related BTP, but there were some weaknesses in the aspects of assessment, treatment, management, health education of the BTP. Conclusion: The hospital managers should enhance the study of BTP knowledge among medical staff and formulating standardized BTP management process to improve effective pain management and quality of life of patients.
