Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the effects of mind map combined with motivational interview on young diabetes patients'self-management. Methods: The 120 young diabetes patients were randomly divided into two groups: experimental group (n=60)and control group (n=60). Experimental group received education management of motivational interview combined with mind map,while control group received routine diabetes education. We evaluated the difference from effects of mastering diabetes knowledge,self-management behavior score and biochemical indicators between the two groups respectively. Results: The effects of mastering diabetes knowledge, self-management behavior score and biochemical indicators in the experimental group were better than in control group, and the difference was statistical significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Motivational interview combined with mind map,which can improve clinical indexes of young diabetes patients, is a good method and tool to improve patients' quality of life.
