Abstract: Objective: Exploring the intervention effect of modified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy on psychological rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancer after surgery. Methods: By convenience sampling, forty-eight patients after head and neck cancer surgery in a tertiary grade A hospital in Beijing from April 2021 to September 2022 were selected. They were divided into control and observation groups according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional psychological care, while the observation group received modified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for psychological intervention. The anxiety, depression, sleep quality, and satisfaction levels were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results: After 6 weeks of intervention, the anxiety, depression, and sleep quality scores of the observation group patients were lower than those of the control group, and the satisfaction scores were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of modified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for rehabilitation training can alleviate anxiety and depression in patients with head and neck cancer undergoing tracheotomy and improve sleep quality and satisfaction.
