Abstract: Wounds are one of prominent health problems in the world, especially chronic wounds, which last for a long time, consume a lot of medical expenses and nursing time, increase the economic and care burden, and also affect the quality of life of patients. Topical Oxygen Therapy (TOT) is a new technique for wound treatment that has attracted much attention in recent years. In the treatment of chronic wounds such as diabetes foot ulcers, lower limb ulcers, wounds that are difficult to heal after trauma or surgery, beneficial effects have been obtained, which has become a hot spot in the treatment of chronic wounds. The conception and mechanism of TOT, indications and operation essentials, care time and effectiveness in different types of wounds are reviewed, in order to provide reference for the application of the technique in clinical nursing in China.
