Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of kangaroo nursing combined with touching on the pain of preterm infants screened for Retinopathy Of Prematurity (ROP). Methods: Using the convenient sampling method, from January 1, 2019 to January 1, 2021, 70 premature infants who met the ROP screening criteria in the pediatric ward of a tertiary grade A hospital in Nantong city were selected as the research objects, and they were randomly divided into the experimental group (n=33) and the control group (n=37) according to the random number table method. The control group was screened according to the routine procedure, and the experimental group received kangaroo nursing combined with touch during the screening process. Preterm Infant Pain Profile (PIPP), regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2), blood oxygen saturation (SaO2) and heart rate were used to compare the degree of pain in ROP screening between the experimental group and the control group. Results: During ROP screening, the PIPP score of patients in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The rScO2 and SaO2 in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion: Kangaroo nursing combined with touching can effectively reduce the pain of ROP screening in preterm infants.
