Abstract: Objective: To systematically analyze the risk factors for neglect in the elderly. Methods: Databases including PubMed and Web of Science and so forth were searched to retrieve studies on the influencing factors of neglect in older adults from their establishment to May 2022. Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan5.3 software. Results: A total of 22 papers were enrolled, containing 18 cross-sectional studies and 4 cohort studies referring to 47,292 subjects. Meta-analysis showed that advanced age, female, divorce, low income, chronic illness, depression, insufficient social support, declined activities of daily living, cognitive impairment, and poor health status were risk factors for neglect in elderly people. Conclusion: Elderly neglect is influenced by various factors, and thus it is necessary to focus on the high-risk population and take proper measures in time.
