Abstract: Objective: To provide follow-up health education to patients with enterostomy after discharge from hospital and to verify its effectiveness. Methods: A total of 215 patients who underwent enterostomy surgery in 17 hospitals in Beijing were selected for the study by convenience sampling, and the health education intervention based on WeChat mini-program was implemented in the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 11th and 23rd weeks after discharge, and the knowledge score of stoma self-care for patients with enterostomy and ostomy adjustment inventory were compared before and after continuing health education. Results: The knowledge score of stoma self-care for patients with enterostomy after the intervention was 17.77±1.81, which was higher than that before the intervention (14.44±7.02), the difference was significant (P<0.001), and the score of ostomy adjustment inventory after the intervention was 45.50±7.97, higher than the pre-intervention score (40.70±7.60), the difference was significant (P<0.001). Conclusion: WeChat mini-program based post-discharge health education for patients with enterostomy can effectively improve patients' self-care knowledge of enterostomy and their psychosocial adaptation. It has great application effect and is worthy of clinical promotion.
