Abstract: Objective: To understand the experience of children's caregivers during hospitalization in parent-child ward of COVID-19 designated hospital. Methods: Using phenomenological research method in qualitative study, semi-structured interviews were conducted among 24 families living in the parent-child wards of designated hospital. Data were transcribed and analyzed by the software Nvivo based on Colaizzi's method. Results: A total of 5 categories were extracted: expectation for the parent-child ward in the designated hospital; positive attitude; appreciation of parent-child ward; unmet needs; concerns on back to the society. Conclusion: The patient-child wards in the COVID-19 designated hospital are conducive to meet the needs of children and their families during treatment, which reflects positive inpatient experience. Meanwhile, nurses need to provide more multi-dimensional health guidance for caregivers.
