Abstract: Objective: To translate the Family Appraisal of Caregiving Questionnaire for Palliative Care (FACQ-PC) and test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the FACQ-PC. Methods: The Chinese version of the FACQ-PC was formed through translation, integration, back translation, group discussion, cross-cultural semantic equivalence assessment, and pre-investigation; the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of FACQ-PC were tested among 237 family caregivers through convenience sampling. Results: The CR of each item of FACQ-PC ranged from 5.150 to 26.043, and the item-total correlation coefficient ranged from 0.410 to 0.741. The item-level content validity was 1. The average scale-level content validity is 1. The confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the fitting indexes of the model were acceptable:χ2/df =1.819, RMSEA=0.064, CFI=0.905, AGFI=0.817, NFI=0.827, IFI=0.907, TLI=0.887. The reliability analysis results showed that the overall Cronbach's α of the scale was 0.903, the Cronbach's α of each dimension was ranged from 0.696 to 0.846, and the test-retest reliability was 0.817. Conclusion: The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the FACQ-PC scale is good, and it can be used to measure the caring experience of caregivers of advanced cancer patients receiving palliative care.
