Construction and practice of the service capability training system for stroke nurses in Anhui province

Abstract: Objective: To construct the service capability training system for stroke nurses in Anhui province, and to explore its practical effect. Methods: On the basis of the construction of training bases and teacher teams, the service capability training system for stroke nurses was constructed according to the post competency model. The training system was implemented in 4 training courses from September 2020 to August 2021, and the training effect was analyzed, including the evaluation of trainees' comprehensive quantitative assessment results and the self-assessment form of core competence of clinical practice, the investigation of trainees' work after returning to their post and their satisfaction with the training. Results: After implementation of training system, the comprehensive quantitative assessment scores of the 4-phase trainees were (82.49±3.23) points, the pass rate of trainees was 100.00%, and the excellent rate was 13.56%. The trainees' self-assessment of core competence in clinical practice was (76.08±4.05) points for admission and (93.62±2.75) points for leaving department, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). The trainees all said that the training had a positive impact on the development of relevant work and personal career planning after returning to work, but there were 57.14 % of the trainees reported that there were various obstacles in the process of work development. The trainees' satisfaction score for department training was (96.22±2.05) points, and the teachers were reported that they had high professional quality and humanistic quality. Conclusion: The practice of this training system improves the post competency of stroke nurses in Anhui province, accumulates experience for the training of stroke nurses, and can provide reference for the construction of stroke nurses' service capacity.
