Evaluation of nursing staff training program based on magnet designation standard

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of nursing staff training program developed according to magnet designation standard. Methods: Based on the analysis of magnet designation standard for hospital staff training program, combined with the hospital and nursing strategic plan, nursing quality indicators, and learning needs of nurses at all levels and posts, we developed the nursing staff training program. So that the nursing department and the nursing units closely combined to implement and evaluate teaching projects according to different needs. Results: We constructed our staff development program based on thorough assessment of learning needs and clinical needs. Nurses' satisfaction rate with training programs reached ≥95%. Nurses' satisfaction rate with overall staff training programs exceeded the average of National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators. Patients' satisfaction with nursing skill and nurses' explanation exceeded the average of National Database of Nursing Satisfaction Survey. Nurses' knowledge level of electrocardiogram was improved, patients' fall rate with injuries decreased. Conclusion: The nursing staff training program based on clinical outcomes can effectively improve nurses' learning effect and satisfaction, also improves patient satisfaction.
