Evidence summary on prevention and management of Venous Thromboembolism in ambulatory cancer patients receiving chemotherapy

Abstract: Objective: To provide evidences for clinical practice by searching, evaluating and summarizing the relevant evidence of prevention and management of venous thromboembolism in ambulatory cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Methods: The method of PIPOST was used to propose the evidence-based problem and relevant researches were retrieved by computer search. JBI evidence appraisal and recommendation system were used to evaluate the quality of studies and level of evidence. Results: A total of 14 literatures were included in this study, and 19 pieces of evidence were summarized covering 6 aspects including risk screening, evaluation and diagnosis, mechanical prevention, drug prevention, management strategy and health education of ambulatory cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Conclusion: The evidence-based method provides clinical staff with a reliable practical basis for the prevention and management of venous thromboembolism in ambulatory cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
