Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effects of whole-course health education program in home nursing safety management of patients with laryngeal cancer after artificial airway operation. Methods: Seventy-five patients who met the inclusion criteria from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected as the control group and given routine nursing. Seventy-five patients who met the inclusion criteria from January 2017 to December 2018 were selected as the experimental group, and the health education program was applied. At the same time, the mobile terminal information exchange tool was used for extended management after the patients were discharged from the hospital. Results: The incidence of adverse events of home care in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group within three months after discharge (5.3% vs 33.3%, P<0.05). The results of the questionnaire showed that there was no significant statistical difference between the two groups regarding the demands for discharging guidance content (P>0.05). There were significant differences in the content of discharging guidance the two groups received and the effects and skills of nurses' guidance between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: The whole-course education program, combined with the use of mobile terminal information exchange tools, can effectively reduce the incidence of adverse events in home care of patients with laryngeal cancer after artificial airway surgery, ensure patient safety and improve the quality of discharge guidance.
