Promoting family-centered Advance Care Planning in China

Abstract

Abstract: It has been well documented that family participation and family relation have significant influences on the implementation of advance care planning. It is therefore important to involve family members in advance care planning. This article aims to describe the related concepts of family-centered advance care planning and to explore how family participation and family relations affect the implementation of advance care planning. Implications for promoting family-centered advance care planning in China are also discussed.
