Abstract: Objective: To explore the status and influencing factors of community nurses' knowledge related to insulin, and to provide evidence for improving the health-related management ability of community nurses' on diabetic patients receiving insulin therapy. Methods: A total of 267 community nurses from 31 community centers who were trained in these community nursing training bases from 2013 to 2015 were recruited. They were investigated by selfdesigned questionnaire. Results: The lowest score is 22, and the highest score is 88. The average score was 63.40±16.98.The percentage of errors on knowledge of insulin, method of using insulin pen and how to store are at the top three. There are significant difference among community nurses from different education degree, length of employment, and titles on insulin knowledge level. The results were as follows: F=3.85, P=0.02; F=10.21, P<0.01; F=21.58, P<0.01. Conclusion:Community nurses' knowledge related to insulin treatment is too poor. The organization managers should attach great importance on the knowledge-related training for community nurses, and adopting effective measures.
