Abstract: Objective: To establish a nursing consultation outpatient clinic based on the Internet cloud platform for prevention and reduction of the incidence of neonatal diseases. Methods: The hospital's WeChat official account was connected with a mobile health platform of a third organization to build a nursing consultation cloud platform. Targets of the services, contents of the consultation, service process, and system feedback were clearly defined. The effects of the consultation clinic based on Internet cloud platform were evaluated. Results: From May 2017 to March 31, 2021, there were 1393 consultations in the cloud outpatient clinic and 797 in the offline outpatient clinic. During the same period, the number of consultations in the cloud outpatient clinic was significantly higher than that in the offline outpatient clinic (P<0.001). The number of newborn feeding care, skin care, and sleep care was significantly higher than those in the offline outpatient clinic (P<0.001). Conclusion: Neonatal nursing cloud clinic can effectively meet the needs of neonatal continuity care, solve the problems of parents, prevent some neonates from going to the hospital due to inappropriate care, and save social resources. Clinical nurses can obtain new space for personal development. Excellent nurses can also gain new value for themselves.
