Abstract: Cancer-related cachexia is an independent risk factor for postoperative death. Nutritional prehabilitation, a preoperative management approach derived from Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, aims to enhance patients’ nutritional status, accelerate recovery, and ultimately improve their prognosis and quality of life. This review synthesizes current research on nutritional prehabilitation for patients with cancer cachexia, examining its implementation, postoperative effects across different stages of cachexia, and the major limitations and future challenges, with the aim of informing evidence-based strategies for nutritional prehabilitation in oncology.
