Abstract: The utilization of Decision Support Systems (DSS) by nursing staff offers comprehensive information support, assisting in making precise and evidence-based decisions. This can significantly improve the quality of care provided to critically ill neonates and enhance their health outcomes. This article introduces the concept of DSS and explores its current applications in neonatal critical care, including areas such as nutritional support, medication safety, condition monitoring, nursing documentation, and health education. Additionally, it analyzes the barriers encountered by domestic nursing personnel in the development and implementation of DSS and suggests potential solutions, so as to provide insights for the creation of more specialized and systematic decision support systems for neonatal care.
