Influencing factors of career success among nursing managers

Abstract: Objective: The study aims to investigate and analyze the status of occupational environment and career success of nursing managers in various provinces and cities, in order to explore the relationship between them. The results of this study will provide evidence for the formulation and establishment of relevant strategies to optimize the occupational environment of nursing managers. Methods: Through convenience sampling, 1 806 nursing managers were selected as participants. The general data questionnaire, Nurses Occupational Environment Assessment Scale and Career Success Scale were used for survey. Multiple linear regression analysis was used for analysis. Results: A total of 1 804 valid questionnaires were collected. The scores of the occupational environment assessment scale and career success scale were (83.38±14.99) and (39.47±8.21), respectively. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main factors affecting nursing managers' career success included their education, position, part-time job in academic organizations and occupational environment, which altogether explained 28.6% of the total variation in career success. Conclusion: The scores of career success for nursing managers are at a medium to high level, and improving their career environment is conducive to the continuous improvement of their career success.
