Evidence summary for the prevention and nursing of Pressure Injury in critical care children

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate and integrate evidences on the prevention and nursing of ICU children's Pressure Injury. Methods: We searched clinical decision-making websites, guidelines, professional association websites, evidence-based literature resources, and databases for guidelines, evidence summaries, best practices, systematic reviews and expert consensus on the prevention and nursing of Pressure Injury in critical care children. The JBI evidence appraisal and recommendation system was used to evaluate the quality of studies and the level of evidences. Results: A total of 11 papers were brought into this study, including 1 guideline, 5 evidence summaries, 2 systematic reviews and 3 Randomized Controlled Trials. Finally 33 pieces of best evidences were summarized, covering 5 aspects including risk assessment, medical device-related, position management, therapeutic nursing and surgical prevention. Conclusion: Nursing staff should choose the best evidence to carry out prevention and nursing of ICU children's Pressure Injuries according to the medical environment and the situation of children, in order to improve the standardization and effectiveness of the ICU children's Pressure Injuries management.
