Abstract: Objective: To conduct quality and content analysis of the evidence-based practice guidelines for the development of nutritional support programs for Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) patients in China. Methods: The following data base were systematically reviewed: the clinical practice guide websites, ophthalmology professional associations and academic organizations, Chinese and English databases, and other online search engines published guidelines on evidence-based practice for nutritional support for AMD patients. The AGREE II instrument was applied for quality evaluation and content analysis of the guidelines. Results: A total of 12 guidelines were included. The overall quality of the guides was grades A (2), grade B (8), and grade C (2). A total of 13 recommendations were finally integrated to reflect the risk factors and intervention measures. Conclusion: The qualities of the existing 12 guidelines are between middle and high level. The developer of the guidelines, the preciseness, applicability and independence of the guidances need to be improved. Since there is a lack of evidence-based practice guidance for high-quality AMD nutrition support in China, the 13 recommendations integrated can be recommended to provide nutrition support for AMD patients.
