Abstract: Empowerment education is based on the patient as the subject of a new educational mode,who working together with educators to develop nursing programs to participate in decision-making. Internal capacity was gradually discovered and developed in controlling the disease process, and then the ability of better manage their disease was developed.This article summarizes the concept, characteristics, content, intervention methods, evaluation parameters and application of empowerment education in maintenance hemodialysis patients, to provide references for clinical practice.
