Abstract: Objective: To discuss the effect of applying WeChat-based Just-in-Time-Teaching (JiTT) teaching model in the training of new operating room nurses. Methods: The JiTT model was applied after we designed the training courses and developed the WeChat platform. Its effect was evaluated by a comprehensive examination and a questionnaire survey.Results: New nurses affirmed the learning effect and obtained higher scores in the comprehensive examination. Surgeons and clinical instructors also acknowledged their professional skills and abilities to adapt to work. Conclusion: Independent learning and thinking abilities of new nurses could be enhanced by adopting the JiTT model in the training program. In addition, this model could cultivate their team-work spirit and help them adapt to their work in operating rooms. At the same time, the JiTT model offered a favorable experience and basis for reform in the training of operating room nurses.
