Abstract: Objective: To explore the practice and effects of second class on improvement of nursing students′ humanistic caring capacity. Methods: Guided by theoretical study, a series of second class was designed and implemented in grade 2011 nursing class. Results: Nursing students′humanistic caring capacity was greatly improved after the activities (P<0.001). The top three popular activities were clinical practice, skill competition and TV play review. The students reported that those activities integrated theory with practice, and contributed to improve students' learning interest and capacity. Conclusion: Practice of second class could effectively improve nursing students′humanistic caring capacity, and help them master theoretical knowledge and skills.
