Abstract: Objective: To investigate the status of pain management for infants with congenital heart disease within 8 h after surgery and extubation. Methods: A total of 20 PICU infants from a cardiology hospital were investigated with general information questionnaire, FLACC tool, analgesia-sedation and non-drug pain relief measures registration form. Results: FLACC score was high in 0 h and 2~4h. The rate of using analgesia-sedation and non-drug pain relief measures increased from 15% to 70%. Then the FLACC scores decreased after 5h. Conclusion:Infants suffer from severe pain on the first day after extubation and it has been improved by analgesia-sedation and non-drug pain relief measures. However, the pain management needs to be strengthened.
