Abstract: Objective: To construct a nursing decision support system for Intraoperative Acquired Pressure Injury (IAPI) and evaluate its effectiveness in improving nursing decisions, reducing IAPI incidence. Methods: Based on the clinical guidelines, expert consensus, group standard recommendations, IAPI risk assessment and prevention knowledge base was established. The system was designed based on the knowledge base. The system was applied in the operating room of a tertiary grade A hospital in Anhui province in October 2023. Convenience sampling method was used to select 5423 patients from January to March 2023 as the pre application group and 5515 patients from October to December 2023 as the post application group. The incidence of IAPI was compared between the two groups. Additionally, random number table was used to randomly select 200 patients from each group to assess the accuracy of IAPI risk assessment and the completion rates of preventive measures. A survey was conducted among 104 operating room nurses to evaluate their satisfaction with the system. Results: The implementation of the system led to a significant decrease in IAPI incidence from 0.129% to 0.018% (P<0.05). The accuracy of IAPI risk assessments, and the completion rates of IAPI preventive measures showed significant improvement (P<0.05). Nurse satisfaction with the system was high, with an average score of 96.73±1.96. Conclusion: The IAPI nursing decision support system effectively aids nursing decision, reduces the occurrence of IAPI, and improves the quality of IAPI nursing care.
