Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current situation of knowledge of drug extravasation prevention and treatment among geriatric nurses, and to analyze the influencing factors to provide a scientific basis for the development of training courses. Methods: A multi-stage random sampling method was used to construct a questionnaire survey among 1131 geriatric nurses in 15 hospitals nationwide from August to November, 2024 with a general information questionnaire and a questionnaire on the knowledge of the prevention and treatment of drug extravasation. Multiple linear stepwise regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of geriatrics nurses' knowledge on drug extravasation prevention and treatment. Results: A total of 1110 valid questionnaires were collected. The overall score for drug extravasation prevention and treatment knowledge was 76.81±12.94. Multiple linear regression results showed that the influencing factors included the age, educational background, professional title, hospital level, the manage experience of drug extravasation, and the number of training experience on drug extravasation (P<0.05), which accounted for 55.8% of the total variation. Conclusion: Geriatric nurses' knowledge of drug extravasation prevention and treatment is generally good, but it still needs to be improved. Nursing managers should focus on the weak points of the knowledge of drug extravasation prevention and treatment to conduct targeted training.
