Abstract: Objective: To search and summarize the evidence for smoke prevention measures for medical staff during operation, and to provide references for clinical practice. Methods: Based on the evidence-based "6S" model, relevant databases and official websites were searched from January 1, 2012, to September 30, 2022. Three researchers conducted the quality evaluation and evidence extraction for all the data. The 2016 version of the JBI evidence classification and recommendation level system was used to classify the included evidence. Results: A total of 14 studies were included, including 5 guidelines, 3 systematic reviews, 1 randomized controlled trial, 3 quasi-experiments, and 2 cross-sectional studies, which were summarized into 26 items of evidence on 5 topics: creating a smoke-free environment, smoke extraction and filtration, personal protection, personnel education, the development of appropriate policies. Conclusion: The summarized evidence can be used to improve the scientific understanding of intra-operative surgical smoke for medical personnel, improve the management of occupational protection, and provide evidence-based basis for the prevention of surgical smoke.
