Abstract: Objective: To construct specialist nursing indicators applicable of spine-related surgeries. Methods: Semi-structured expert interviews were carried out based on the methods of evidence-based medicine and results from domestic and international researches conducted by nursing specialists to establish the specific content and evaluation criteria of nursing quality indicators of spine-related surgeries. Results: Totally 13 nursing quality indicators of spine-related surgeries were established, including the accuracy of neurologic function, the pass rate of axis roll, the incidence of foot droop/joint stiffness, and so on. Conclusion: The establishment and application of nursing quality indicators of the spine-related surgeries can provide scientific supervision over specialist nursing of spine-related problems, which is a useful and objective reflection of the connotation of nursing. At the same time, it is beneficial to provide data for continuous quality improvement and promote the construction of nursing discipline.
