Abstract: The main contents of the Guideline of control of healthcare associated infection outbreak (2016 edition) published by the National Health and Family Planning Commission and its application to clinical nursing work were analyzed. The following information were included: the relevant terminology of healthcare aquired infection outbreak and key issues, the management requirements about healthcare aquired infection outbreak, the epidemiological investigation and control methods of the outbreak. The aims of this guideline are improving the clinical nurses’ abilities to prevent the healthcare aquired infection outbreak, provide technical guidance on management of the outbreaks, and ensure the medical quality and patients’ safety.
