Abstract: Objective: To explore the relationships between nurses, silence behavior and work alienation,organizational climate. Methods: Totally 603 registered nurses were recruited from one tertiary Grade A hospital in Guangzhou. They were investigated with Silence Behavior Scale, Work Alienation Scale and Organizational Climate Scale. Results: The scores of silence behavior, work alienation and organizational climate were (3.13±0.54), (2.86±0.54)and (3.73±0.36) respectively, and were all at middle level. Work alienation was positively related to silence behavior, and organizational climate was negatively related to silence behavior and work alienation (P<0.01). Work alienation played a mediating role between organizational climate and silence behavior. Conclusion: Silence behavior was found among nurses,and work alienation and organizational climate affected silence behavior. Hospital managers should pay attention to nurses' silence behavior, and reduce work alienation and silence behavior by constructing a good organizational climate.
