Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current working status of nurse specialists in the pediatric ICU, analyze the influencing factors of the training effect to improve core competence of this group. Methods: Two-hundred and thirty-eight trainees who completed all the training courses and obtained the certificates were recruited and investigated with a selfdesigned questionnaire. Results: After completing the training, 73.7% of the trainees carried out new programs such as PICC in their own hospitals, 54.5% published papers, 24.4% gained research grants, and 71.8% were promoted to work as nurse managers, charge nurses or nurse educators. There was statistical difference in the development of new programs, papers publishing, program participation, promotion and further education among trainees in different hospital levels, different positions professional titles, or ICU working seniority.
