Abstract: Objective: To investigate the elderly patients’ awareness and behavior of fall prevention and analyze their influencing factors. Methods: It was a cross sectional survey. Totally 200 elderly patients with chronic disease were investigated with the Awareness and Behavior of Fall Prevention Questionnaire. Results: Elderly patients’ average awareness score of fall prevention was (50.38±10.67), while their behavior score of fall prevention was (42.99±7.06). The influencing factors of fall prevention awareness and behaviors scores included age, living space and others. Conclusion: The elderly patients with chronic disease were lack of awareness and behavior of fall prevention. Fall risk assessment and the related education should be implemented to reduce the incidence of falls in elderly patients.
