Abstract: Objective: To systematically analyze the research trend of PICC-related venous thrombosis in China, so as to provide evidence for future studies. Methods: Articles about PICC-related venous thrombosis published from 2004 to 2013 were retrieved from CBM, CKNI and Wanfang databases, and were analyzed systematically.Result:Altogether 210 related articles published in 91 journals were retrieved. Authors were located in 29 provinces and most were from medical institutions. Most articles were about clinical research, but only 2.86% were randomized controlled trials. Most research focused on case report and analysis,and prevention and management of PICC-related venous thrombosis. Their references were mainly Chinese literature (70.37%), and 9 papers were cited more than 10 times. Nevertheless, only 5.71% of them were supported by research grants. Conclusion: PICCrelated venous thrombosis has attracted wide concerns by clinical staff. High-quality research papers and PICC-related thrombosis management standard are needed, so as to provide more powerful evidences for PICC-related venous thrombosis prevention.
