Abstract: Patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU) are at high risk for critical illness, delirium and sleep disorders. A healing environment layout centered on human care philosophy contributes to promoting the physical and mental recovery of patients and has a positive impact on healthcare providers. This paper reviews the development of the concept of a healing environment, theoretical mechanisms and the current situation of the practice of ICU healing environment and puts forward the prospect, in order to provide reference for the optimization of the environment layout of hospital ICU.
