Abstract: Objective: To explore the status of sedentary behavior in community-dwelling elderly diabetic patients, analyze the influencing factors, and provide a reference for health promotion. Methods: From Febrary to May 2022, we conducted a survey with 252 elderly patients with diabetes in the community using four questionnaires, including the general data questionnaire, diabetes self-efficacy scale, social support rating scale and modified fall efficacy Scale. Results: The sedentary time of community-dwelling elderly diabetic patients was (6.95±1.59) h/d. The proportion of the sedentary population was 69.8%. Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that age, number of complications, 2 h postprandial blood glucose and fear of falling were independent risk factors for sedentary behavior in this population (P<0.05). Conclusion: The occurrence of sedentary behavior in community-dwelling elderly diabetic patients is affected by many factors. Medical staff should focus on patients aged ≥80 years with complications, poor blood glucose control and fear of falling, and develop relevant interventions to reduce the incidence of sedentary behavior.
