Abstract: The use of physical restraints have many adverse effects on older people both physically and psychologically. Therefore, to minimize the use of physical restraints has been required by many countries. This article mainly introduces the definition of physical restraints, nursing staff's feelings about applying physical restraints to elderly people, and the influencing factors of the minimization of physical restraints use among older people. It is aimed to provide evidences for minimizing the use of physical restraints among older people in China.
