Abstract: Objective: To explore the continuous improving strategies of PICC catheterization rate in primary hospitals. Methods: Total 188 cases with PICC catheterization were investigated. Fishbone diagram was used to analyze the main related factors of accurate PICC catheterization rate, and the coping cluster strategies included establishing the cooperation mechanism of PICC nursing team, developing standardized vascular assessment tools, and selecting cases according to the risk-benefit principle. Results: The PICC catheterization rate increased from 93.1% to 97.5% after the continuous improving strategies. Conclusions: The cluster measures can improve the placement rate of PICC, and it benefits the further popularization of PICC technology in primary hospitals.
